Does putting a SUPERWEEKENDATHON 08 in a SUPERWEEKENDATHON 08 mean the world is going to explode, or does it turn inside out and spill its contents on the floor? I DON'T KNOW! Better get the cat ready Matt.
Last Sunday was the literal Big Fat Greek wedding. Unfortunately, I learned firsthand that by big and fat they actually mean "Kind of polarizing". I was fortunate enough to avoid the actual wedding ceremony since the church was already going to be packed, but I heard that two thirds of the hourlong ceremony was on Greek. This continued into the wedding. The toasts were primarily in English, but the music was all Greek and clubby. I think they had maybe slow dance type song for people not in the wedding party, which made my parents kind of sad. Plus the groom's side (my family) was outnumbered about three to one. Food was good though.
Yesterday was Halloween. After putting it off for almost an entire month, I finally settled on being House. I think it came out alright; I had the props (in particular, the cane with the flame designs came out particularly well), but I didn't take the time to shave down the night before and that would've helped. The funny part about being what's otherwise a most realistic human being is that I got one of two responses.
I didn't really get to see many costumes this year because ETS lets you wear costumes, but everybody's so boring there. Catherine and I were the only ones to do anything in our building, whereas in Anrig, I saw a poster for a costume contest with pictures of people dressed as Scooby Doo, Where's Waldo (Walda?), Iron Man, rappers, and a fire(wo)man.
Ironically, my day as House involved me doing more good deeds than I do on a normal day. At work, Catherine and I managed to organize a Halloween/Philadelphia Phillies breakfast complete with a bowl comprised of only red and orange candy despite starting on October 30th. Last year, someone had declared such an event at least a week in advance, so I kept waiting for them to do it again. Truth be told, I think my building had to come together to do something after the recent passing of a valued and respected colleague so I think this was doubly important. We attended her memorial service was this morning.

- "Chris, what happened to your leg."
- *Inquisitive stare* "...HAHAHAHA! I get it."

Time for another SUPERWEEKENDATHON 08 update. This Saturday was Laura's birthday, and Sunday was the continuation of Will's D&D campaign.
Laura's birthday was lots of fun. Lauren drove Niki, Mike, and myself down to Laura's around noon on Saturday where we all met up before going to the Cranberry Festival in Chatsworth. The festival was interesting... if you know what I mean. It wasn't as cranberry-centric as you would expect. Basically there's one place about four table lengths long that specializes in all things cranberry. We came back to Laura's house afterwards and cooked hot dogs and S'mores over a fire. That's what she said. After opening her presents, we went on a local haunted hay ride. I think we were the last people on there for the night because it quickly got silly... if you know what I mean. Then again, we spent about half the time teasing and/or sexually harassing girls dressed like a zombie and pinhead because frankly, you can only make so many jokes about Angie. Finally, we finished the night playing SingStar now that she has the game and microphones, which Mike really got into. That's what she said. I have to say William was in a very hands-on mood once he got there, which doesn't merit an "If you know what I mean" since it pretty much perfectly explains the thought perfectly. After that, we drove home, and I got home at the uncharacteristic time of 2:45 in the morning.
I have to admit that while I'm getting used to having him around and he's not a bad guy, I'm not really connecting with Mike. I think it's his sense of humor. He makes sounds and stuff, but you just kinda want to look at him and go "Dude, that's... not anything."
And that was my weeken-- "Objection"
( Alright chums I'm back let's do this. )

With my parents out of town, and I went to see
kiraya after we heard about her knee and everything. It was a pleasant day: we went to the mall and looked at Halloween costumes and then came back for Chinese food. It was great seeing both of them again and a good way to kick off SUPER-WEEKEND-ATHON '08TM. I got a fortune cookie that said "Believe in something, so long as it is good". Not really sure how to apply that one.
Just in time for Halloween, I've been introducing people to the profanity-laden Girl's Costume Warehouse. It's funny because as we learned in the mall today, the reality isn't far from that:
I must be quite a picture right now. It's after one in the morning, the lights are out, and I'm listening to the sexy jazz version of Godot's theme. Don't you just envy me? lol
